Catherine, Princess of Wales reportedly spent years trying to help repair the strained relationship between Prince William and Prince Harry before recent tensions finally pushed efforts to a breaking point.
The claims were made by royal author Christopher Andersen during an interview with Fox News Digital while discussing his book Kate!, which focuses on the Princess of Wales and her growing influence within the British royal family.
According to Andersen, Kate remained determined to reconcile the brothers even after the release of Harry’s controversial memoir Spare, which exposed deep tensions inside the royal household and included criticism of several family members.
“She would not give up,” Andersen reportedly said, claiming Kate continued encouraging communication between the brothers despite ongoing fallout from interviews, documentaries and public accusations involving the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
However, the author suggested that comments allegedly linked to concerns about King Charles III and discussions surrounding his mortality may have become a turning point that further damaged already fragile family relations.
The relationship between Prince William and Prince Harry has remained under intense global scrutiny since Harry and his wife Meghan Markle stepped back from royal duties in 2020 and relocated to the United States.
Since then, a series of televised interviews, documentaries and Harry’s memoir have revealed divisions within the royal family, with many royal commentators speculating about whether reconciliation remains possible.
Kate has often been portrayed by royal insiders and commentators as a calming figure within the monarchy, particularly during periods of tension and public pressure. Andersen’s comments add to ongoing speculation about behind-the-scenes attempts to restore unity between the brothers.
Despite persistent rumours surrounding the family feud, members of the royal family rarely publicly discuss private disputes, leaving much of the narrative driven by biographies, media reports and insider accounts.
Public interest in the royal rift remains high, especially as the monarchy continues navigating generational change under King Charles III’s reign.
