A horrific multiple-vehicle collision in the Durban CBD claimed one life early this morning.
According to ALS Paramedics, the crash occurred just after 6am at the intersection of Anton Lembede Street and Dorothy Nyembe Street, involving a taxi, a bakkie, and a light motor vehicle.

One Fatality and Two Injuries
Emergency teams arrived to find what paramedics described as “chaos and carnage.” A man believed to be in his sixties was ejected from the taxi during the crash and tragically declared dead at the scene.
Two other people sustained moderate injuries and were treated on site by Advanced Life Support Paramedics before being transported to nearby hospitals.
Cause of Crash Under Investigation
The exact circumstances leading up to the collision remain unclear. SAPS attended the scene and have launched an investigation.
Both vehicles that left the roadway were later secured, and the intersection has since been cleared.
