Centurion – A woman in her twenties is recovering in hospital after being shot during an alleged cellphone robbery in Raslouw, just outside the Mooiplaats informal settlement, in the early hours of Monday, 8 September 2025.
According to emergency response teams, the victim’s friends attempted to rush her to hospital in their private vehicle but suffered a flat tyre en route. They then called for assistance.
Swift Multi-Agency Response
SAPS, the Wierdabrug Community Policing Forum (CPF), Vision Tactical, and several private security companies responded quickly to the emergency call. Gauteng EMS and CERT medical crews were also activated.
Paramedics stabilised the victim on scene, administered pain relief medication, and transported her to a nearby hospital in a stable condition.

CERT expressed gratitude to all law enforcement, CPF, EMS, and private security personnel who worked together to assist in the life-saving operation.
Police investigations into the robbery and shooting are ongoing.
