Memorial and Funeral Details Announced for Journalist Tshidi Madia

The family of the late Tshidi Madia, respected journalist and broadcaster, has confirmed the details of her memorial service and final send-off.

Madia, who passed away in August 2025, was widely admired for her fearless journalism, her dedication to telling South Africa’s political stories with honesty, and her vibrant personality that inspired many in the media industry and beyond.

Memorial Service

A memorial service celebrating her life and professional legacy will take place on Tuesday, 2 September 2025, at Primedia, 15 Fredman Drive, Sandton. The service will begin at 11:30 for 12:00.

Attendance will be by RSVP only. Those wishing to attend are asked to confirm with Nokubonga Hlatshwayo on 073 086 2241.

Final Send-Off

The Madia family has invited friends, colleagues, and loved ones to bid a final farewell at her funeral on Thursday, 4 September 2025. The service will be held at San Salvador Catholic Church, 182 Hartebeest Avenue, Leondale, Germiston, starting at 08:00.
